Set up your AI agent
Give your agent a name, tell it about your business, and choose how the chat looks on your website.
Updated October 24, 2026
Open AI agent in your dashboard. On a computer, a Preview beside the settings shows a sample chat that updates as you type.
When you change something, a bar appears with Save changes and Discard. Nothing reaches your website until you save.
Who your agent is
- Agent name: shown to visitors in the chat header. The agent also uses it to introduce itself.
- About your business: tell your agent about your business and how you want it to reply, for example: "We're a family-run bakery in Lyon. Friendly and warm, never pushy. Always mention we close on Sundays." Optional.
About your business shapes how your agent talks. For facts visitors will ask about, such as prices, hours or policies, add them on Knowledge, where answers come with their sources. See Add knowledge to your AI agent.
The name of the business your agent works for is set in Settings → Workspace, under Business name. Your agent introduces itself as the assistant for that business. Leave it empty and it introduces itself without a business name.
How it looks
- Brand color: used for the chat button, the visitor's messages and the action buttons. Pick a colour or type its code. If white text would be hard to read on it, a warning asks you to pick a darker shade.
- Widget position: Bottom left or Bottom right. Move it if something else already uses that corner of your site, such as the Google reCAPTCHA badge.
What it can offer
The third card lists the buttons your agent can show when it can't answer, or when a visitor asks for one, plus the Fallback reply. See Choose what your AI agent offers.
Settings on the Install page
Two more settings are on Install, under Display:
- Widget language: the language of the widget's buttons and labels. The widget switches to your page's language by itself when it's one of the six we support; otherwise it uses the default you pick here. Your agent's answers always follow the visitor's language.
- Widget branding: on paid plans, Hide "Powered by Thaelior" removes the line at the bottom of the chat window.
Check the result
Click Test it at the top of the page to chat with your agent exactly as visitors will. See Test your AI agent.
